About me

Translating is what I do, film is what I love.

The cinema is like my second home, a place I love to continue exploring with infinite interest. With a degree both in Translation Studies and Theatre, Film and Media Studies, immersing myself in other cultures and realities comes naturally to me.

I have studied film in theory (university degree in Theatre, Film and Media Studies, co-editor at peng., a magazine for film, art and culture) and in practice (as assistant to film productions of the Film Academy Vienna, organiser of a film week, film festival jury member) and during numerous visits to the cinema and DVD evenings.

Having been born and raised in the western-most province in Austria (Vorarlberg) in two different families – my Turkish biological parents and my Austrian foster family – multi-culturalism has been a core part of my life from its very beginning. Both a multiplicity of languages and dialects, as well as widely-varying cultural environments formed the background for my formative years and beyond.
